Smoke and dust come with laser work, so the layer doing the catching matters. This composite filter for the Elegoo Phecda packs three stages into one cartridge, and the pack contains 5 pieces.
Primary filter cotton. Coarse debris lands here first. Dust and bigger smoke particles get held back before they ever reach the finer media, which takes load off the later stages and keeps efficiency up for longer.
Honeycomb activated carbon. Odors, VOCs and certain chemical pollutants from cutting and engraving are adsorbed and neutralized at this stage, so the smell in the room stays manageable.
Last in line is the H12 HEPA layer. Fine dust and microscopic airborne contaminants stop here, with 99% filtration efficiency for particles as small as 0.3 micrometers.
Put it all together — primary filter cotton, honeycomb activated carbon and H12 HEPA filtration — and up to 99% of the particulate smoke and dust produced during laser engraving or cutting is captured.
Swapping one out takes little effort. The filter system is easy to reach and lifts out for quick replacement, which is how the Phecda keeps running at its best with clean air around it.
